Before you put on your make-up….Trust us, Ano is ahead of you. Before you’ve hit the snooze button on your alarm clock, she’s put on her make-up, done her Yoga, made oatmeal for her and Sark, and is headed out the door for a rousing game of tennis ~or at the very least, an exhaustive day of shopping.
Once upon a time, having been confronted with the challenge of matching artwork to an ornate fabric pattern on her family room sofa, Ano remained undaunted, and simply created a painting that “mirrored” the pattern of the fabric. This singular artistic endeavor, of course does not even begin to address the many years of creative decorating for each and every Holiday, or the “Halls of AnoArt” that are on display M-F, 2:00 P.M -4:00 P.M. at Casa SarkAno.
Fads come and go. There are hits, and there are serious misses. Fortunately, it’s fashion, rather than fad, that guided Ano. And for those stylistically lean years (Because, let’s face it, the 80’s left us all with nothing more than a drawer full of ill-fitting shoulder pads in the 90’s) Ano turned her talents to creating and tailoring her own fashion hits.
…Because, honey, there is nothing….nothing that can beat a great head of hair. There are of course many things that can ruin it: Such as a hairdresser with a hangover. Or an errant Post-It note stubbornly stuck to the wrong photo, signaling “this is the cut I’d like to get, before I go on my cruise to Mexico.”
And of course, credit must be paid to a woman who knows how to avoid fashion disasters, thereby sidestepping the whole “slave to fashion” scene. Yes, it’s a grand dame who can navigate those Beauty Parlor Waters like a Brave Captain in a storm of perms, shags, bobs, and “Dorothy Hamill Wedges”.
….And she can fry it up in a pan.So, do not. I repeat, do not – pass up an invitation to a Michelin 4 Star dining experience at Ano’s! It’s fun, it’s tasty, and chances are, you’ll be thoroughly delighted, having been presented something you’ve never tasted before. And if you can get her recipe for those gorgeous little fruit tarts, I’ll be forever in your debt!
No, no, no! Not those roots! Geesh! We’ve already covered the gorgeous hair issue. We’re talking about where she gets those great looking genes from. (This girl had genes, long before the rest of us paid $295 for a pair of distressed jeans from Neiman Marcus, convincing us it was a perfectly sensible thing to do!) She’s had “that” look from the get go….(oh yes, that’s her on the far right!)
And it only got better with time….
Yes. It’s Ano’s world, and we’re all just living in it.
